Meghan Markle Reveals the Workout Wich Completely Transformes Her Body

We can sit around and count the ways in which we’re captivated with Meghan Markle (her hair, her clothes, her fiancé…..’nuf said) however currently she’s also got the planet obsessing over her exercising. The newly-engaged star has revealed she could be a fan of a Pilates-based workout done on the Megaformer machine.

She told Women’s Health UK she’s a follower of her old trainer and friend Heather Dorak's studio, Pilates platinum, where she takes classes on a machine known as the Megaformer. “You keep returning for many reasons: firstly, your body changes immediately…give it 2 classes and you can see a difference; second, Heather is superb — as a coach, as a friend, she is inspiring  in every way; finally, the individuals in the class are cool, unpretentious, and motivating…and that's a testament to Heather’s energy,” she says.

So we went straight to the inventor of the machine and founding father of Lagree Fitness Studio, Sebastien Lagree, to learn all about the exercise that Markle says “changes your body straightaway.”

What is the Megaformer?

First of all, to clear up any confusion between the Lagree Fitness methodology and Pilates; you do NOT do any standing exercises on a reformer, ever. Joseph Pilates the reformer was inspired by a hospital bed when he was a nurse and rehabbing people in their bed. The reformer is all for laying on the back and rehabilitating and reconditioning your muscles without any kind of pressure on your body. the instant you get up, you’re no longer doing Pilates.

The Lagree Fitness methodology could be a patented workout methodology (as of June 2016 it had been officially patented as its own exercise method) and innovative full-body High-Intensity Interval training (HIIT) exercise performed on the patented Megaformer® or supra tilting-axes resistance machines, each designed by founder, Sebastien Lagree specifically for the Lagree Fitness methodology. The high intensity, low impact exercise combines mind and body through a series of very slowly performed multi-targeting exercises like planks, lunges, pushups, abdominal crunches, and squats that promote strength, endurance, core, cardio, flexibility, and balance in each move

How typically will Meghan practice Lagree?

My guess, along with her busy schedule, she may only do it one or two times per week. She did say that after only two sessions, you notice a difference in your body composition; which is the inspiration behind why I frequently upgrade the Megaformer. after working with celebrities for many years, I do know that they have minimal time – sometimes they will solely enter for a 10-20 minute exercise. With the Megaformer’s resistance-based platform + movable carriage, the system of springs and pulleys — and your own weight – offers you a full-body, cardio, strength-training, flexibility-enhancing exercise with fast results.

Which version of the Megaformer does Meghan use?

When Meghan works out in L.A. she’s training on the M1 – that’s the primary version of the Megaformer that I ever invented and it had been released in 2009; when she’s in London, she works out on a more recent, upgraded version of the Megaformer, the M3, that I released in 2014.

The difference between the 2 is that the M1 features a recommended workout time of fifty minutes – one hour; and the M3 is anyplace from 35-45 minutes. on every occasion, I release an upgraded version of the Megaformer I think about ways in which to make transition time minimal (since the Lagree Fitness methodology is all about constant tension on the muscles) and your exercise simpler in a very shorter quantity of your time. every version of the Megaformer that I release are designed with the user in mind – a way to lend a lot of exercise choices and variations to the user, for instance by adding multi-level handlebars, additional placements for feet and hands, adding quick-release springs to save lots on transition times between exercises.

Depending on which studio you head to, can determine the equipment used there, and though the workout is universal in its methodology, some studios with older machinery might have longer class times to make up for the lost time during transitions between exercises.

How will the Lagree Fitness methodology create that long, lean look like Meghan’s?

It's the only methodology that effectively combines strength, endurance, core, cardio, flexibility, and balance. it is a high intensity, but low impact workout that strengthens, tightens, and tones the muscle very quickly by keeping constant tension on the muscles. the bottom of the Lagree Fitness methodology is keeping muscles narrowed from anyplace for 60-120 seconds at a time; once you do this – and perform every movement SLOWLY (we’re talking a 4-count in, 4-count out), it forces your slow-twitch muscle fibers to activate, which burn fat and sculpt long, lean muscles. We’re all about AVOIDING quick, explosive movements, as those are the kind to bulk up muscles. Also, by keeping muscles narrowed for over sixty seconds, you begin shaking and sweating and it will increase your heart rate, and that’s the magic because now you’re toning, sculpting, burning fat and obtaining your cardio in.
